The government has cancelled all transfer, posting and attachment orders issued by the former Director Health Services Jammu during the second half of April, citing administrative concerns and the need to ensure smooth functioning of healthcare institutions.

According to Government Order No 422-JK(HME) of 2026 dated May 15, issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, a large number of transfer, posting and attachment orders involving doctors, paramedical staff, non-gazetted officials, Class-IV employees and other workers were issued between April 15 and April 30.

The order said the present Director Health Services Jammu had submitted details of the transfers and attachments to the department on May 11 for examination.

After reviewing the matter, the government said the timing and volume of the orders made it necessary to rescind them in the interest of administration and patient care.

“All transfer, posting and attachment orders mentioned in Annexure-A stand cancelled ab-initio,” the order said.

The decision restores affected employees to their previous places of posting.

“All such employees shall continue to perform their duties at their previous places of posting as existed prior to issuance of the aforesaid orders,” the order stated.

The government warned that non-compliance by any officer or official would be viewed seriously and could invite disciplinary action.

Drawing and Disbursing Officers were directed to ensure implementation of the order.

The government also directed the present Director Health Services Jammu to ensure strict implementation and submit a compliance report to the administrative department within three days.
