Ganderbal, May 12
The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) said on Tuesday it would shortly begin admissions to its postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session, with admissions based primarily on CUET-PG 2026 scores.
The university’s Directorate of Admissions said candidates who appeared in CUET-PG 2026 would be eligible to register once the admission process formally opens.
The university will offer admissions across a range of postgraduate programmes, including MA English, Urdu, Economics, Political Science, Kashmiri, Mass Communication and Journalism, Philosophy, M Com, LLM, M Ed, Integrated B Ed-M Ed, MP Ed, MBA, MBA in Travel and Tourism Management, and several science and engineering programmes.
Science courses include M Sc Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology, Physics and Mathematics, while engineering programmes include M Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Structural Engineering.
The university said admissions would be conducted strictly on merit secured in CUET-PG 2026.
Candidates have been advised to select the same programme options during university registration that they had chosen in their National Testing Agency CUET-PG application forms.
For MBA and MBA in Travel and Tourism Management programmes, preference will initially be given to candidates who appeared in or qualified the CMAT 2026 examination, the university said.
Any vacant seats remaining thereafter will be filled on the basis of CUET-PG merit in the relevant subject or paper code.
Similarly, admissions to M Tech programmes will first prioritise candidates allotted seats through CCMT 2026 on the basis of GATE scores. Remaining seats, if any, will subsequently be filled through CUET-PG merit.
The Directorate of Admissions urged students to regularly check the university’s official website for registration schedules, eligibility criteria and detailed admission notifications.
Candidates seeking assistance regarding the registration process may also contact the Directorate of Admissions during office hours, the university said.
