Srinagar, Aug 2
A landslide has damaged a school and several houses in Sarouti Jabran village in Poonch district, with residents warning that continued ground movement could cause further destruction.
Residents said the land had been shifting for several days before the situation worsened, damaging homes and leaving cracks in other structures.
Families living in the affected area said they feared further collapses and urged authorities to move vulnerable residents to safer locations.
They also called for geological and disaster-management experts to assess the site and prepare a rehabilitation plan, including possible relocation of the settlement.
