Srinagar, July 2
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Thursday directed officials to expedite construction of the Seerbagh-Sempora bridge in Srinagar, saying the project should be completed and opened to the public at the earliest.
During an inspection of the bridge, Choudhary reviewed the progress and quality of construction works with senior Public Works Department officials.
He said the project had entered its final phase and instructed the executing agency to adhere to the construction schedule while maintaining quality standards.
“The remaining work should be completed without unnecessary delay so that the bridge can be dedicated to the public at the earliest,” he said.
The Deputy CM said the bridge would improve connectivity for residents of Seerbagh, Sempora, Summerbugh and adjoining areas of Chadoora, Pampore, and Srinagar by reducing travel time and improving access to essential services.
He said the project was also expected to facilitate economic activity and support regional development by improving transport links across the area.
Senior Public Works Department officials, including Chief Engineer Narinder Kumar and Superintending Engineer Iram Lone, accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during the inspection.
