Pray for peace, prosperity, wellbeing of people

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, which will be observed across Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
In his message, Sinha conveyed his best wishes to the people and said Eid-ul-Adha celebrates the spirit of sacrifice, unity, and brotherhood.
He said the festival serves as a reminder to uphold the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness, and prayed that the occasion brings joy, peace, and prosperity to people’s lives.
Abdullah also greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir and those outside the Union Territory on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, describing the festival as a symbol of sacrifice, compassion, generosity, and obedience to the will of Almighty Allah.
Recalling the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the unwavering obedience of Prophet Ismail (AS), the chief minister said the occasion carries a message of faith, devotion, patience, and submission to Allah’s command.
He said their legacy continues to inspire people to uphold righteousness, selflessness, and compassion in their lives.
Abdullah expressed hope that the festival would further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, communal harmony, and mutual respect among people.
He urged people to remember the poor and needy during the celebrations and to share the joy of Eid with the underprivileged.
The chief minister also prayed for peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people and hoped the festival would bring happiness and blessings to every household across Jammu and Kashmir.
