The Art of Living Foundation on Sunday organised a felicitation ceremony at Tagore Hall in Srinagar to recognise individuals described as “unsung everyday heroes” for their contributions to society.

The event, held under the patronage of Roma Wani, brought together educators, intellectuals and social contributors in a programme aimed at highlighting grassroots service and community engagement.

According to organisers, three individuals from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were selected through a jury process for recognition at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director of School Education Kashmir Syed Shabir Ahmad said there is a growing need for value-based education and holistic development to address contemporary societal challenges.

Vice Chairperson of SSM Polytechnic College Parihaspora Dilafroz Qazi attended as guest of honour and appreciated initiatives aimed at acknowledging grassroots contributors.

Organisers said the recognition programme is part of a broader global initiative that seeks to highlight individuals working quietly in fields such as education, social service and community welfare.

Speakers emphasised that recognising such contributors can encourage greater civic responsibility and inspire wider participation in social development efforts.
