Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Thursday inaugurated the Jammu and Kashmir Security Operations Centre (JKSOC), aimed at strengthening J&K’s cyber security infrastructure amid increasing digitisation of government services.

According to an official statement, the inauguration ceremony was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Secretary IT Piyush Singla, Director General of the National Informatics Centre VTV Ramana, Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency CEO Mahima Madan and SIO NIC J&K J S Modi, among other senior officials.

The JKSOC has been established to provide round-the-clock monitoring, threat detection and incident response capabilities to protect critical government digital infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber threats.

Speaking at the event, Dulloo said the rapid digitisation of government services had made robust cyber security systems essential for secure governance and public service delivery.

“The SOC will serve as the nerve centre for securing J&K’s digital assets and ensuring the safe and seamless delivery of e-governance services,” he said.

Officials said the centre is equipped with advanced tools for real-time threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment and security analytics. It will also coordinate with national cyber security agencies, including CERT-In, for cyber incident management and response.

Senior Director NIC Anil Kumar Sharma delivered a presentation on the operational framework and technical capabilities of the JKSOC during the event.
