The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested an alleged interstate narcotics supplier from Patiala in Punjab in connection with a drug trafficking case, officials said on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Rajwinder Singh, son of Karam Singh and a resident of Ghuman Nagar in Patiala, was wanted in a case registered as FIR No 01/2026 at Police Station ANTF Jammu, officials said.
According to an ANTF spokesperson, a police team led by Inspector Amandeep Singh and Constable Gajinder Singh conducted raids in different parts of Punjab under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravinder Rakwal and Senior Superintendent of Police Anwar-ul-Haq.
The accused was arrested near Ghuman Nagar Market in Patiala, the spokesperson said.
Police alleged that Rajwinder Singh was associated with another accused, Gurmeet Singh, who had earlier been arrested with a commercial quantity of charas.
Investigators said the accused used to purchase second-hand vehicles for transporting narcotics from Kashmir to Mumbai to generate illegal profits.
The arrest marked a significant breakthrough in the ongoing anti-drug campaign under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan,” the spokesperson said.
