Jammu, April 30

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday chaired a cabinet meeting in Jammu to review development initiatives and governance priorities, his office said, ahead of the administration’s seasonal shift to Srinagar.

The meeting was the last to be held in Jammu before the government moves to the summer capital as part of the biannual “Darbar Move”.

“Chief Minister chaired a cabinet meeting this morning in Jammu to consider key development initiatives and discuss governance priorities for the coming period,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a post on X.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary attended the meeting along with ministers including Sakina Itoo, Javed Ahmed Rana, Javid Ahmed Dar and Satish Sharma, officials said.

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo was also present, they added.

The Darbar Move, a longstanding administrative practice in Jammu and Kashmir, involves the shifting of government offices between Jammu, the winter capital, and Srinagar, the summer capital.
