Srinagar, April 29

Hyundai Motor India said it will raise prices across its vehicle range from May 1, citing higher input and production costs, prompting a rush among buyers to secure vehicles at current rates.

The automaker said customers have a limited window until the end of April to benefit from existing prices and promotional offers on select models.

Discounts of up to 35,000 rupees are being offered on the Verna sedan, up to 60,000 rupees on the Alcazar SUV and Grand i10 Nios hatchback, up to 50,000 rupees on the i20, and up to 45,000 rupees on the Aura, the company said.

Additional benefits of up to 20,000 rupees are also available, taking total savings to as much as 100,000 rupees depending on terms and conditions.

Hyundai said the price revision was driven by rising costs and changing market dynamics, in line with broader trends in the auto industry.

Dealers reported higher showroom footfall and increased bookings in recent days, as customers sought to take advantage of pre-hike pricing.

Industry analysts say such discounts ahead of price increases often lead to a short-term surge in demand, particularly in price-sensitive segments.

Customers planning purchases have been advised to finalise bookings before the new prices take effect, the company said.
