The first batch of 50 students supported under a scholarship and financial assistance programme sponsored by Trumboo Industries Pvt Ltd, or TCI MAX Cements, has begun vocational training at Government ITI Pampore.
The students are enrolled in various skill and vocational courses under the Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Department.
The company said the programme is intended to improve educational and employment opportunities for young people from areas adjoining the institute.
The initiative forms part of TCI MAX Cements’ corporate social responsibility programme focused on skill development and employment opportunities for youth.
Pampore MLA and former judge Hasnain Masoodi, along with Trumboo Industries Chairman Mohammad Shafi Trumboo, interacted with the students and encouraged them to make full use of the training programme.
Masoodi and Trumboo wished the students success and highlighted the role of technical and vocational education in improving employability.
Students were encouraged to attend classes regularly, develop practical skills and make full use of the facilities available at the institute to build professional skills and greater self-reliance.
