CISF chief reviews Amarnath Yatra security

Senior officials assess preparedness, coordination

Director General Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Praveer Ranjan on Wednesday reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in Jammu, assessing operational preparedness and coordination among multiple agencies involved in securing the annual yatra.

Ranjan inspected the Bhagwati Nagar base camp, the Joint Police Control Room, CCTV monitoring facilities and the Tawi riverfront before interacting with security personnel and the yatra, the CISF said.

The review covered security deployment, emergency medical response, fire safety measures, logistics and inter-agency coordination aimed at ensuring the safe movement of the yatra.

The CISF chief also chaired a high-level meeting attended by senior officers from the Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army, the Intelligence Bureau and other agencies overseeing the pilgrimage.

He stressed the need to maintain operational readiness, continuous vigilance and seamless coordination throughout the yatra, according to the force.

Ranjan commended the professionalism of the security personnel and expressed confidence that coordinated efforts among the participating agencies would help ensure the smooth and incident-free conduct of the yatra.
