The Jammu and Kashmir government has invited nominations for the 2026 edition of the Chief Minister’s Award for Honesty, Integrity and Meritorious Public Service and asked administrative departments to submit recommendations by July 15.

In a communication issued to all administrative secretaries, the General Administration Department (GAD) directed departments to nominate eligible government employees for consideration under the annual award scheme.

According to the notification issued by GAD Commissioner Secretary M Raju, the award is conferred annually in recognition of exemplary honesty, integrity and distinguished public service by government employees.

The notification referred to a series of government orders issued between 2006 and 2025 that prescribe the procedure for the conferment of the award in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Administrative secretaries have been asked to forward nominations along with supporting documents by July 15, 2026.

Departments have also been directed to submit authenticated biodata of the nominated employees, including contact details, email addresses and a summary of their achievements and contributions to public service.

“The departmental nominations should be accompanied by biodata (duly authenticated) and other documents prescribed for the purpose,” the notification said.

The awards are announced each year on the eve of India’s Independence Day following scrutiny of nominations received from government departments and other concerned authorities.
