A woman was allegedly killed by her husband following a domestic dispute in the Nanak Nagar area of Jammu, police said on Friday.

Police said the accused, identified as Kamlesh, a native of Bahraich currently residing in Sector 10, Nanak Nagar, allegedly strangled his wife Savita on May 27 after a heated argument over a family-related issue.

The couple had two children, officials said.

Police have registered an FIR in the case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and initiated an investigation.

Further investigation is underway.
