Four senior Indian Police Service officers of the AGMUT cadre currently serving in Jammu and Kashmir have been empanelled for appointment to the rank of Inspector General or equivalent posts in the central government, officials said on Tuesday.
The officers empanelled are Vikramjit Singh, Abdul Jabbar, Sarah Afzal Ahmed Rizvi, and Tejinder Singh.
Vikramjit Singh is a 2004-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre.
Tejinder Singh, a 2008-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, is currently serving as Inspector General of Police, CID, Jammu and Kashmir. His empanelment for appointment to IG-equivalent posts at the Centre has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Abdul Jabbar is also a 2008-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre.
Sarah Afzal Ahmed Rizvi, a 2008-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre currently on inter-cadre deputation to AGMUT, is serving as Inspector General of Police (Crime) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said the empanelment makes the officers eligible for appointment to Inspector General-rank positions or equivalent assignments under the central government.
