A private school in Srinagar hosted a national conference on education and social harmony, bringing together around 40 delegates from across India, organisers said on Tuesday.

The two-day event, organised in collaboration with the Ruth Cohn Institute for Theme-Centred Interaction (TCI), marked the silver jubilee of the institute’s presence in India.

Delegates from several states, including Kerala and Punjab, attended the conference, which focused on issues of cultural and religious identity and approaches to fostering dialogue and cooperation.

Organisers said it was the first time Srinagar had hosted the institute’s national conference, describing it as a milestone for the region’s academic landscape.

The conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive workshops on personal development, group dynamics and the application of the TCI framework in diverse social settings.

School officials said the event underscored the importance of value-based education and the role of educators in promoting inclusivity and bridging cultural divides.

Participants also highlighted the relevance of the TCI approach in encouraging cooperation and harmony in multicultural societies, organisers said.
