A senior Indian Army commander visited forward areas in Poonch district to review the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations, officials said on Monday.

General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, toured hinterland areas including Dogrian in Surankote sub-division.

During the visit, he was briefed on the counter-terrorism grid, intelligence framework and coordination with other security agencies, officials said.

Mishra also interacted with troops and commended them for their professionalism, high morale and operational preparedness, they added.
