The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar on Friday conducted an awareness programme for inmates at Central Jail Srinagar to educate them about their legal rights and access to free legal aid.
The session focused on informing prisoners about their rights under the law, procedures for obtaining legal assistance and the role of legal services institutions in ensuring access to justice.
Officials said the program was held under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, chairman of the authority, and supervised by Tabassum Qadir.
Legal experts, including Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Jahan Ara, along with assistant counsels Sadiya Sidiq and Safa, addressed the inmates as resource persons.
